2009-2010 Concert Series

In the 2009-2010 Season, Conductor Dana Mambourg Zimbric returns to lead you through an exploration of The ABC’s of Musical Literacy.  Children become familiar with the instruments of the orchestra, learn how music is made, and how music comes together in all sorts of ways.  This interactive and entertaining season is sure to delight music lovers of all ages!

Rhythm, Rhyme, and Ragtime
November 2009

Rhythm, Rhyme and Ragtime includes works by Stravinsky, Scott Joplin and features Classics 4 Kids' commissioned work by James Woodward and coincides with the release of his children’s book.

 

Bringin' it Bach
January 2010

Guest artists and renowned violinists Lindsay and Lauren Deutsch share the stage with the Classics Philharmonic in Bringin’ it Bach, an original concert featuring the quirks and music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Actors in period dress help bring this family-friendly classic story to life. If you love classical music this is a must-see!

This exciting concert is also a rare opportunity to hear the famous and newly renovated 1929 Wonder Morton organ, performing some of Bach's most impressive pieces.

Musica Mexicana
April 2010

A multicultural concert celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mexican Independence.  Music inspired by our neighbors across the border is performed by the Classics Philharmonic and Guest artist Jeff Nevin and his Mariachi band.
