Marion Sciré, Founder and Executive Director
Marion brings to Classics or Kids an intense passion and innate understanding of what it takes to produce a quality artistic product and solid education experience for young children. A transplanted New Yorker with a B.S. in Marketing from Long Island University, Marion owned and operated a business with her husband prior to moving to San Diego. In 1994, not long after coming to California with her family, Marion founded Classics for Kids to enhance the music education program at her daughter’s school.
In November of 2007 Marion was honored by the San Diego Business Journal with a "Women Who Mean Business" Award for her work with Classics for Kids. The first concert for 600 children was financed through home-made chocolate heart-shaped lollipops. Since then Marion has dedicated extraordinary physical and financial resources in order to build Classics for Kids from a program that initially served students in a single school to one that attracts nearly 30,000 students from all over San Diego County.
In addition to her activities with Classics for Kids Marion loves to raise and show her Alaskan Malamutes. Contact Marion at mscire@classics4kids.com or 619-291-3111.
